THERE IS NO ROSE
2016 WINNER - WORCESTER COLLEGE
CAROL COMPETITION
There is No Rose
2016 WORCESTER COLLEGE CAROL COMPETITION WINNER

There is no rose of such virtue
As is the rose that bare Jesu;
Alleluia.

For in this rose contained was
Heaven and earth in little space;
Res miranda.

By that rose we may well see
That He is God in persons three;
Pari forma.

Now leave we all this worldly mirth
And follow we this joyful birth;
Transeamus.
Duncan's setting of the anonymous text There is no Rose is the winner of Worcester College's 2016 Carol Composition Competition. It will be performed at the College carol service on December 27th, 2016 by the chapel choir. SATB, a cappella, with minimal division. For a perusal score, inquire here.
