ABOUT STEWART DUNCAN
Stewart Duncan, ASCAP, is a Bloomington, Indiana-based composer and doctoral candidate for the Ph.D. in Musicology from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. After studying at Regent’s Park College, Oxford, he graduated from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri in the United States with a B.A. in Oxbridge Honors Music History. Duncan served as the resident music scholar at Grace & Holy Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Kansas City, Missouri from 2012-2015, and as the Tenor Lay Clerk of St. John’s College, Oxford, from 2013-2014. He has studied composition and choral music with Dr. Ian Coleman and Dr. Anthony Maglione at William Jewell, as well as with Dr. Steven Grahl at New College, Oxford. Duncan has garnered international acclaim for his choral music, receiving commissions and premieres from the Choir of St. John's College, Oxford, the Choir of St. Stephen's Cathedral, Vienna, by the Choir of Worcester College, Oxford, Caritas Chamber Choir of Cantebury, UK, the Concert Choir, Schola Cantorum, and Chamber Orchestra of William Jewell College, and by the Choir of Grace & Holy Trinity Cathedral, Kansas City. Duncan’s work is published exclusively by Alliance Music. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer and running.
